For Oily to Dry Skin


To have nice skin, you have to always take care of it. You don’t need to buy expensive cosmetics. “Ni Nyampinga” brings you five amazing facial masks that you can easily make.

First of all, you have to know which type of face skin yours is. Is it oily? Or it is always dry? Is your skin normal (not very oily nor dry)?

First homemade facial mask

If your face skin is oily:

  1. Take a fresh tomato
  2. Press it and keep the juice
  3. Cut a cucumber into small pieces and mix the pieces into the tomato juice
  4. Apply every day to your face using a cotton swab. This will decrease the amount of oil in your face skin.

Lydivine has tried this facial mask. “When I used it, I was feeling dryness in my face. I thought I would mix with lotion or stop it but I kept on. After seven minutes I washed my face and it became much softer. I tried it at least seven times and now I can see changes on my skin. It is no longer oily like before, because I used to clean my face every time to reduce oil in my face” she says.

Second homemade facial mask

You can apply this for any type of skin.

  1. Press fresh tomatoes and keep the juice
  2. Make a puree of an avocado
  3. Mix the tomato juice and the avocado puree and apply to your face
  4. Keep it on your face between 20 and 30 minutes
  5. Clean your face with warm water

Third homemade facial mask

You can use this for any type of skin:

  1. Press fresh tomatoes and keep the juice
  2. Mix a spoonful of honey with the tomato juice
  3. Apply to your face and keep it on for 15 minutes
  4. Clean your face with warm water

Nadia tried it. “When I applied honey on my face it was so sticky so that I was afraid it wouldn’t be possible for me to remove it. But after 10 minutes I washed my face and it all washed away. After washing, my face could finally "breathe” she says.

Fourth homemade facial mask

This is used for any type of skin. Use:

-A banana (of the latundan type) -Two teaspoons of honey -Juice from a piece of sugar cane

How you do it:

  1. Puree the banana
  2. Mix with honey
  3. Add the sugar cane juice and mix until it becomes like a cream
  4. Apply the substance to your skin and keep it for 15 minutes
  5. Wash you face with clean water
  6. You apply this facial mask once a week and it makes your skin feel smooth and look good.

Benie tried this. “I liked this facial mask. I applied it and it was sticky. The more it dried, the more my face would become dry. When I looked at my face, it was oily. But when I washed, it became soft and very clean.

Fifth homemade facial mask

This is a facial steaming recipe. You can choose the type of leaves according to your face skin type:

For normal face skin, use “umucyayicyayi” (grass that smell like cooked tea) or parsley leaves

For oily skin use eucalyptus tree leaves, “romaine”, and outer peel of an orange or lemon. For dry skin, use “sage” leaves

How to do it:

  1. Wash your face
  2. Heat 75cl of water
  3. Put the leaves of your choice in the water (according to your skin type) and wait 5 minutes
  4. Carefully, put the saucepan on a table without moving the substance inside
  5. Move your face above the water, but be careful to put too close or inside the water. Make sure you leave a distance of at least 40 cm between the face and the water.
  6. Close your eyes and cover your head up until your shoulders with a cloth, stay like that for 10 minutes.
  7. Clean your face and use your usual lotion.
  8. Use this facial mask once a month for normal face skin and oily skins, and use it twice a month for dry face skins.
